TEN GRANDE - December 22, 2009 There are tribute songs for Michael Jackson, Maurice Gibb (of the Bee Gees), Bo Diddley and Somer Thompson on this album. I decided to make this album after my idol and worldwide legend Michael Jackson died suddenly on June 25, 2009. I wrote "Man On The Moon" for him and the Jackson family. (Click song title for a special music video.) This inspired me to write a tribute to another idol of mine, Maurice Gibb (12/22/1949-1/12/2003) of the Bee Gees called "You Are There". (Click song title for a slideshow video). The song "Come Back Home" is dedicated to Bo Diddley (12/30/1928-6/02/2008) who gave me the opportunity to perform with him on stage. He always treated me as an equal and with respect from the time I was a child. During the recording of this album, the shocking news of the abduction and murder of 7-year old Somer Thompson from Orange Park, Florida enraged the nation in October, 2009. I was moved to write a special song for Somer, her family and all the children who fall victim to this type of crime called "Farewell Somer". (Click song title for a live performance video).
